The village Gouvia was a small former fishing village that sits in a tightly curving natural bay 5 miles north-west of Corfu town and it has a strong seafaring history going back to its days as a Venetian naval base with its Venetian harbor that the remains of it stand till today.
From the early 70s the village start to attract many visitors mostly from Europe that spend their holidays there. One of the first tourist resorts of the island of Corfu. Gouvia village has the main marina of Corfu and welcomes many yachts from all over the world.
