Gouvia offer an ideal location for a sailing holiday because of the Marina. There you can find Charter sailing and motor boats as well as (RYA)  sailing courses. There are a lot of yaught charter companies along the Marina and is difficult not to find what you are looking for.
The Ionian winds barely exceed Beaufort Scale 6, and provide excellent sailing conditions. There are many places to visit to like Agni, the boyhood haunts of Gerald Durrell, Kouloura–and St. Stephanos.
Going further it it is worth to visit the islands of Paxos and Anti-Paxos, where you can spend several days exploring caves, turquoise blue waters and fishing villages.
Also there are many smaller islands dotted around the “Inland Sea” offering a wealth of safe and secluded anchorages for bathing, barbecuing and relaxing.
Alternatively, you can sail to small ports such as Nidri or Levkas, Fiscardo on Cephalonia or Vathi on Meganisi
